Hello Everyone,

Here are some pictures of my first knife set. The set consist of one "Honest Hunter" and one "Venison Boner". The hunter is hammer forged, edge quenched 1095 and the boner is stock removed ATS 34, heat treated by Paul Bos Heat Treating. Both pieces are outfitted with Walnut and Nickel Silver.

Please critique my work.

Thanks,

Bobby,

Hershey, PA:)

Bobby, both pieces look great! I really like the lines on the boning knife. But I have two small critiques. First is on the boning knife which looks like one of the pins in the bolster didn't disappear. Second and this is only my opinion, I would like to see the butt of the hunter with a little less mass. Other than that, great job.

Nice knives, both of them look great to me. Since you did ask for critique, here is mine. I dont see these as a "Set" but two knives by the same maker. A set to me should have both knives very much like each other in regards to handle shapes, guards and the same steel.
Again, "nice work"

Thanks Bruce,

Perhaps I use the term set to liberally. They were made for a customer who wanted a hunter and a boner with the same handle and bolster/guard materials. In that sense, I call them a set. Thanks for the honest critique.

Thanks melsdad,

Delivery is scheduled for the second week in August. I hoping he enjoys them on his upcoming mule deer hunt this fall.

Very nice "set". I would second Mike's comments on the pin not disappearing as well as the mass on the hunter - it looks a little off balance.

Hi Bobby,

Your knives look great. Very sleek. I especially like the boning knife. One thought, you might make the bolster flow into the blade better by thining the edge of the bolster as it nears the blade, if you know that I mean. The hunter is also very nice, although it would, in my opinion, look better if the handle were thinner. But, as I said, both look good, have really nice grinds and fit and finish. Good Job!

Dave
