Ok...so i had very limited resources to do this but i wanted to make me a knife to carry around and basically beat the hell out of.

1080 steel
Clay coated
Heat treat at 1475
3 temper cycles at 400
Amboyna burl handle, 2 pins and a thong tube

Ok here is the fun part, I did this all with a 1x42 craftsman sander(KMG just got up and running this morning), a 12" file for draw filing and a dremel(to buff handle). I had to do it all slack belt because the damn platen is screwed up. So it is my first attempt back into knives in a while...so be gentle lol

Thought i would share

It's beautiful. I really like the gracefully blended grind lines. Great job, skilled hands can accomplish a lot with a 1x42 and hand tools.

What the heck it is leaning on?

Thanks Salem! It is a tattoo machine that i made lol. All i have to say is that it is a pita to get decent plunge lines on a slack belt.....

Thanks guys! I was a little skeptical about getting back into this. I am almost finished setting up my workshop and i think things will get a bit easier from here on out :)

Looks great. It should be much easier now that you have the KMG!

Very nice:thumbup: I like the lines a lot and the handle looks great!

I figured that was a tattoo machine I saw behind it when I first saw it, but it didn't look like any I had seen before. Very cool. Where did you learn to make something like that?

I like it a lot.
Again, nice proof that you don't need a lot to make something beautifull

Thanks for the kind words all. I actually started making tattoo machines about 8 years ago, Sick of buying mass produced machines, only to have to modify them to what i wanted. That is what transformed into my knife making. I had a few friends ask if i could make knives because i worked with a lot of metal...so here i am.
