So I finished up my first knife to where I'm almost content with it. It started out with a trial wood handle that had no pins and was ceder, and much too soft for any practical use. (Sorry for the pic quality, cell phone pics)

And here it is after some new green micarta scales and some real pins:

I also finished up my 2nd, and 3rd knife. (well not finished but close)
10in chopper and a 5in bushcraftish knife. I took a hiking trip with my cousin this last weekend up to Lake Ethel to do a little exploring and test out the mostly finished knives. I was hoping to get a deer and test out the skinning ability of them, but no luck.

The camera man was a logger and a bit shaky this was the best of 3 lol

Also a kydex sheath I made for my little EDC

Just thought I would share. We had a fun trip. The last few pics of that are all washed out are at the ridge between two high mountain lakes. The sights were breath taking and the weather was perfect. The camera however was a cell phone and sucked at capturing the sights. Let me know what you think of the knives!!

Its 5160 salvage from a leaf spring. I did the HT at home and I am very happy with it. It holds a great edge. I was a little worried about it at first, I did a number of tasks with them and the edge is just as sharp. The EDC is sanded/sharpened to 2000grit, 5in is 800grit, and the chopper is 220grit. I ran out of time hahaha.

So far they are turning out good. I look forward to seeing future creations. One of these days I'll get off of my lazy ass and make the effort to craft my own knife.
