First let me say I am by no means a "knifemaker" just a collector and have a passion for all things sharp.
Second, this is the first knife I have made from purchased stock , I have re-purposed and/or re-profiled a dozen or so various knives in the past. This is a big jump for me.

With that in mind here are the specs: 1095 1/8" x 2" stock from Aldo, I will use three corbys and have a lanyard , two weight reduction holes. Scales will be brown or blue micarta which I have on hand.

Hopefully, heat treat will be from Peters Heat Treat as they are in Pa and highly recommended.

All comments and/or criticism is welcome and thanks for looking.

That grind still looks pretty fat on the edge, you might want to do yourself a favor and thin it out a little before heat treat. While you do want to leave some room for grinding after heat treat, its easier to do it now, and you dont have to worry about overheating it on the grinder once you get it back, otherwise, nice for you first one!

100_2870.jpg100_2871.jpg100_2874.jpg100_2881.jpg100_2878.jpg I know these are horrendous pics, but here is my first knife finished. Blue Micarta with stainless corbys. That is close to a 30° edge on there and shaves and cuts paper well enough to please me. Overall, I can say this is work and I have more respect for you real knife makers out there. I used a standing drill press, bench grinder and 2x42 belt sander( all Craftsman) and a Dremel for 90% of the work. The rest was hand sanding and sharpening. Next will be a kydex sheath which will be just my second one, the first was for my JK Potowatomie.

P.S. Wife says to take a break from this as the house smells like micarta. Thanks for looking all, and criticize at will...

100_2891.jpg100_2892.jpg100_2893.jpg100_2894.jpg Here is my finished sheath. It fits well and will fit in my back pocket. I may use paracord for belt carry or make a couple belt loops for it. Also made a sheath for my car key. I have had my doors unlock and trunk open when the buttons activated in my pocket. This fixed that.
