Hey,
I finished my first knife last night! I used the Fronteddu/Steigerwald lockback book to design on PowerPoint a large lockback folder. The blade is A2 steel and 3.8" long. The handle is 410 liners with canvas micarta and g10 accents. I wanted to do this with minimal tool investment, so I used a hacksaw, drill press, files, sandpaper, and dremel for the nail nick. I also went with screw construction so I could tweak it a bunch. I think it turned out well. Far from perfect, but the lockup is super solid and it has good open and closing snap. I did not have to post on BF much during the process, but I constantly had a dozen tabs open for threads addressing various intricacies of the process. What an asset! Thanks for all the wisdom!
