The blade came in a kit that my girlfriend got me for Christmas. All I had to do was attach scales and bolsters and the bolsters were optional. I went above and beyond my skills by putting a V notch in the bolster, which made fit up very difficult. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Next, try picking a pre-made bare blade plus some scales material you like and doing the handle work from scratch. Kitchen knives are a very good way to ease into knifemaking, as you can use them every day.
You can buy a damascus kitchen knife blade from Woodcraft or one of the knife suppliers and make a very nice knife.

Before long you will be filing your own blades from bar stock. Then you will want a grinder ......From there it is down the rabbit hole.

That’s actually what this was. It was from mancrates if I remember correctly. Just came with rectangle scales and semi shaped bolsters that I had to profile to how I wanted them. It was a bugger to say the least. I already have most of the material for my next one, which I will make out of bar stock, minus bolsters lol. I did go with a red spacer to go with the micarta blocks I got so that will be cool. I’ll be sure to show everyone here how it goes. I’ll probably make a post and update it as I go so as not to flood the sub forum with different threads.
