Here are a couple of pictures of my first knife. The pictures aren't all that good, but then again neither is the knife, so bear with me.

The knife is made from talonite with carbon fiber scales. I need to thank Tom Walz for generously giving me the talonite sample, and Kyle Fuglesten for giving me some CF scraps to make the handle with.

Feel free to criticize my work, I will even start the ball rolling. The grinds aren't even, the pins aren't lined up, and the fronts of the handle scales arent even either. Also I accidently ground a gouge into one of the scales. Despite all of this, I am happy with the little knife for a first one. I learned a lot, and plan to make more. As for this little fellow, I plan to have a sheath made up so I can put it on my keyring.

These should work now:

I thought for a second that you had the biggest hand in the world!;)
I know I couldn't do that well on a small piece. What did you use to work the talonite? I have read that it is a bear to work with. Good start and keep'em coming. Mark

I did this one on a Delta 1" belt sander. Wasn't really that bad to work with, but then again I have nothing to compare it with.;) I do plan on grinding some more out of steel, probably O1 to start with. My next project is a kit though, done up as a gents folder.
