I am buying my first knife, and I am mainly looking at the Benchmade 940. I like the look of it over the 941, but I am willing to get the 941 if it preforms better because of the blade shape. I will be using this knife for everyday use, and the occasional camping. 940 or 941? Help me decide please. And if there is another knife that you would reccomend, please let me know. Oh, must be under 3.5 inches.

Thanks in advance,

Uh... Thanks guys. But, could someone help me decide which blade style to get? Which blade style is more useful? That kind of stuff?

If it was me I would go with the 940. A little fatter belly on the blade appeals to me more than the 941, and IMHO, would lend itself to being more useful for day-to-day cutting tasks.

Don't think you'll be disappointed with either.

Good luck!

I think the 940 is way sexier, hands down :) ! I also think it is a much more useful blade shape. Damn, now you are making me think about it too much. Must......resist......new.....knew....knife!!!:D

For everyday cutting tasks the 94x series is hard to top. The 943 gets my vote, I like the clip point blade over the reverse tanto.

The 94x series might not work as well for some larger camping jobs. As WadeF mentioned, take a look at the Ritter Grip, it has a little larger size and might work out better for you.

Thank you very much, guys. I'm gonna go with the 940. It just pulls to me. And I just don't like the look of the Doug Ritter Grip. One more question. Where to buy? They have it for $112.50 at Newgraham.com. Good price? Where else?

Thank you VERY much. You guys have been very helpfull.

Seems like most online shops have the 940 priced in the $110-$120 range, and some as high as $140+.

Cumberland Knives (not the same as Cumberland Knife Works) has it for $104.94. But I can't vouch for them since I've never ordered there.

Knife Outlet has it for $104.95, and I've been happy with them.

Best Wishes,
Bob

It's hard to beat newgraham's prices and service.
