Get some books,or magazines and coppy the one you like the best.There is probablt a good reason you like it. Pay attention to edge geometry. think of bullets, arrows, fish, etc. All things that pass through material. You want to minimize friction and resistance as your blade passes through material.
When you have the right shape, it needs a good heat treat, or it's just a knife-shaped piece of steel. It would help if you could track down a knifemaker in your area to bother. they are generally more than willing to part with info.
Be cautious. knifemaking is severely habbit forming!
