i am just interested in what everyone out there had for there first knife
my first knife is a Schrade usa old timer 1040t

Forty one years ago at the ripe age of 8, my father gave me a barlow knife. I don't remember the brand.

My dad gave me a slim little 110-style when I got my Totin' Chit at 8 yrs old. I had it for a year or so and lost it. I wish we could remember what it was. A Schrade perhaps?

I went through a series of Victorinoxes and United Cutlery Mall Ninja Specials during my teen years.

When I found BF and got back into knives as an adult, my first "good" knife was a Kershaw Leek.

I still carry it sometimes. It is a little 2 bladed Schrade slipjoint that belonged to my dad before he gave it to me.

First knife was a Cold Steel Urban Pal. What a piece of junk. Not comfortable in the hand, serrations, and the steel was soft as butter.

I made up for this mistake by picking up a Benchmade 740 Dejavoo.

My first knife was an SAK, had it since I was in grade school.

The first knife I paid for was a delica 3.

A vic SAK. First good knife was a sog trident. Stumbled onto BF while looking for info about it, and have never looked back.

My first was a no name slipjoint (I got it from my mom and dad), replaced with a double bladed Victorinox slipjoint by my grandpa after I lost the first knife on a walk with him. Still have this knife.

Sabre Daddy Barlow from the Dollar General Store about 40 years ago. I still have it.

Old slippy given to me by my grandfather. Still have it, but don't use it. Then my SAK climber. 18 years ago. Still in my pocket.

Case stockman given to me by my grandfather over 50 years ago. I wish I could find it.

Frost Cutlery lockback folding hunter(basically a Buck 110 clone) with multi-color wood scales. I had thought it was a 110 of some sort, but i saw a few of them in an outdoor supply store recently and realized that was it, instant recognition. i might have to go buy one of them for nostalgia's sake.
