Okay, how many of you can remember this! What was your first knife, who gave it to you, and how old were you. Mine was a generic multitool given to me as a b-day gift when I was seven.

I bought (without permission) a small fixed blade, Marquis brand with Japan steel at a bargain store when I was 9 or 10 used it fishin and stuff, thru it in my tackle box and still have it almost 40 years later....The price of $2.50 written in ink on the inside of the sheath belt loop is still there

Great idea for a topic!!!

My first knife (of any value or worth or for that matter worth even talking about) was a first gen Delica with the molded clip.....great knife in fact I still use it to this day! My dad bought it for me for Christmas think the year was either '95 or '96

Mine was a little Davey Crockett knife when I was in first grade. My parents bought it at a 5 & 10 store.

When I was about 10 years old, I got my first knife from my dad, a Victorinox Huntsman. My friends also had some kind of Victorinox. I remember that we loved to try all functions and carried our knives every day. Somewhere near our farm was a small park where we built our camp with big plastic sheets that my dad didn't need anymore. We could spent many hours there just making wooden sticks. Life was easy in those days.

When I was about ten my dad took me to a hardware store and I bought a plastic handled Leatherman knockoff that came with a Vic classic knockoff.

I do not remember how old I was but it was nearly Christmas and a lady in my dad’s car pool visited one evening. She brought presents for me and my brother that was five years younger than me. When she handed them out his was huge and mine was tiny in comparison. I left the kitchen and went into the living room to open mine and conceal my disappointment. I do not remember what my brother got. My present was better then my first BB gun, it was a Cub Scout knife. It was my prize possession for years. When ever I could I had it clipped to the nickel plated clip on my tan cargo pocketed shorts. I think I called them Jungle Jim Pants.:D

When I was 8 and my brother was 7 my Dad gave us both camper style folders. The kind you would see on a standing cardboard display in hardware stores, drug stores and even candy stores.

When I was eight my mother gave me a colt something. It was a slipjoint with a blade and a descaler with a bottle opener. The handles were mother of pearl with a silver fish on one side.

First was a Wenger swiss army knife, still have it and use it as my sole SAK to this day. My philosophy is you own just one SAK and you own it for life.
