First Post and First Knife I have ever made

I have been browsing and observing for a while here. I have collected knifes all my life (25) and decided to try my hand at making one. Now i truly have a much greater respect some of the beautiful knives out there.

The blade is from an old knife i had i merely polished it and reshaped the tang.
The wood is acacia, the darkness of it is compliments of a technique i learned in high school art ie: butane torch and sandpaper.

Be nice to me I know its not perfect or nearly as nice as many of knives here but i will improve. anyway here it is Sorry for the lint on the blade

Welcome. Nice start. Looks like a very user friendly knife. I have rehandled many knives to get the experience. Good work. Stick around.

Got the profile thing done.

What is the thoughts behind ordering pre-made blades? Currently i dont have anyway to forge a blade, not saying i wont get it but i dont have it now.

I know it is not the same but i want to practice assembling knifes before i invest too much money in equipment. This knife was made with a jig saw, bastard file, 80 150 and 220 grit sand paper and a little steel wool from my wife's cleaning stuff.

welcome to the forum:)
