Hi guys, got these two beauties last week.
They are my first folders, (not really, I've had a few in the past, but none that I personally bought or held on to). I dont know what originally compelled me to get one, I must have stumbled upon a knife thread on one of the gun forums im on, then somehow decided on an Adamas, a few google searches and I found this site and shortly after that I saw the custom benchmade pics thread (Especially Keyman's mods :hypnotysed: ) and next thing you know I have two knives and a set of G10 scales and a dremel tool in the mail.

Benchmade 300-1: This one went straight from the mailbox to my pocket, It's a really cool looking knife. I wanted the 300 first but the plain brown scales, the mixed reviews, and the cool factor of the blue/black G10 scales steered me towards this model. Im not a big guy, so as it turns out it fits my hand perfectly. This one will be my every day cary.

Benchmade 275 ADAMAS: This is a beast of a knife, just about all the reviews out there testify as to its toughness, its quality, size and heft. all I can say is Ditto. Although i could use it for EDC, this might not be too work friendly (I work in a medical office/hospital environment) although lots of people carry pocket knives this one might offend some of the delicate management types, or attract the wrong type of attention... It seems that anything painted black (tacticool looking) is bound to trigger a scare. Ive said it before, It makes me think I need a special permit just to carry it around. The Adamas is Badass, and up to the task. Ill use this one on the weekends.
I also got some G10 scales with the intention of customizing the handle, (project underway, but temporarily on pause awaiting new scales on acount of newbie mistakes :p )

These are my first knives, so that being said, I don't have much to really compare it too. However, I do appreciate their quality and robustness. Benchmade did a great job with these two

Great choices to start with, nice review:thumbup: the Adamas is definitely too big for EDC but I would think it would make a great camp knife too, for a folder. I'm not into flippers, but then I've never handled the BM volli, doing so may change my mind. What do you think of the axis lock?

The volli looks pretty similar to the 300-1, minus the flipper and finger indents on the handle, I like the texture on the scales.

I think the axis lock is great, it seems to be a pretty sturdy mechanism on both knives, its a little thicker on the Adamas. As I said earlier, im pretty new to knives but the axis lock seems safer to me than the liner lock.

The only thing I would change in the 300 is the lack of a "positive click" when flipping the blade. If they had incorporated a detent of some sort so you can overcome it and definitely flip the blade open that would have been great, but, once you handle it for a while know to flick your wrist slightly to open the blade.

Edit:
On further review, the Volli and 300 have only a passing similarity to the uninitiated..two very different knives :)
