Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forum but have frequently viewed post which greatly helped me in deciding to buy an Izula, as well as learning how to make some Kydex sheaths for it.

I just wanted to share my finished products :)

those came out great man. you hit all the points that (IMO) separate good thermoplastic work from not so. sturdy looking, but not clunky and smooth thick edges with nice positive thumb ramps.

Thanks everyone. Would anyone have tips on getting better retention with taco sheaths? I find the pancake sheath to be great but the taco sheath is missing the nice solid *click

Fold-over-the-spine (or taco) sheath's retention can be tricky sometimes, dependent on shapes and handle clearances of the knife. Sometimes you won't hear a "click", but the retention is still good. If all you are locking to is the shapes on the blade and not the handle, it is a matter of trial and error to see exactly where you can get good retention, with or without the "click".

Kievanr,

Nicely done work!

Is a 0.080 kydex?

What length are the chicago screws for the loop attachment?

The first taco sheath I made had poor retention and fit but my second attempt was better.
I was a little disappointed when it didn't have the "click" as I thought I messed something up.

Yes it is .080" kydex and for the chicago screws I slipped up and ordered the wrong ones.
I ordered the #8 .1875 x .25 but quickly found out that they were too short.
I ended up using the ones that came with my Izula kit.
