hi all
so decided to use some “big river” gift card money to fund a knew knife purchase. heck, it’s been a while. and i like the 112 so much, i’ve always wanted to try a non-standard offering. so was quite excited when i saw one available.

received it today. initial impressions....

PROS:
love the drop point blade shape. no blade play. locks up tight. solid knife, as usual. it came sharp. enough so that after a few passes on the strop, it was real sharp. i like the micarta and NS look.

CONS:
the liners are not flush. the rivets on the shield side are quite proud. made
in mexico leather sheath.

i admit, i did consider a return due to the couple F&F gripes. but, i think the desire to actually put it to use wins out here. i have always appreciated the buck 112, and as i said, i reeeally like the drop point version.

here she is....

Congratulations! I think it looks fine. I also think you're gonna really, really enjoy using it. I've not tried a drop point 112 yet but I may have to get one now!

I was just looking at that one this morning as I'm a 112 man myself. I'm not big on nickle bolsters but dang that's really nice. Enjoy using it!

That's one of the nicest 112's I have seen. I'm not big on 112's but I might have to get one of those...

Dude, that looks awesome. It's a keeper for sure!

Another one on my list. :)

Yes that is one of the best configurations Buck has made for the 112. I like the pewter shield and I think it's the first time used for a 112. If it had finger grooves it would be just about perfect. .

thanks guys. i typically just have a vic farmer riding around in my pocket. this one will replace the sak for awhile so that i can get a good feel for it. i’ll post back after it gets some use.

i have really dialed down my knife purchases. so i’m like a kid at christmas! :D

No need to replace the SAK, use it to augment the SAK. The 112 for cutting and the SAK for it's tools. For years I had a 110 on my belt and a SAK in my pocket. Now I have added a couple more knives to that mix, but I still carry those.

O.B.
