You are about to take an important first step...off a steep cliff. Buy one; any LTD ED. Next thing you know you'll look at handmade, one off customs and see they're not that much more money. Then you'll buy one of them. Then you'll be sitting here with a whole room full of really great knives, by guys that no one outside the collectors community ever heard of, and you'll wonder whyyou can't just have those guys make them the way you want. Then you'll sit around thinking about all the neat stuff you're gonna get over the next two or so years.
And you'll be wondering, why does anybody even buy those $20 knifes you see in stores.
And somebody'll ask you a real harmless question, like should they start buying more expensive knives, and you'll look back and realize that yes, they should, because you hate to think you're the only fool in the neighborhood.

Yes, you should get one of those. Ken Onion's Leek pattern is classic; Kershaw makes good knives; and the Gold LTD ED is a keeper.
