Having not ever seen a handle like that before, I would have to hold the knife to know whether the shape would work for me. I sure do like what I see though.

I just got back from Spencer's after seeing the new knife; it feels very comfortable in the hand- almost can be used as a palm knife w/ the edge held facing up and point forward. The wood warms the hand, and the contours of the wood and bolster meld nicely to the palm when holding the knife. I think the pocket clip is innovative, comfortable, and makes the knife disappear in the pocket. Excellent job, Mr. SAR.

Hey Keith one reason for the odd shape is I wanted to create room for a double edged blade, but in the end I came up just a tad short on the frame. It is comfortable in the hand and I think the mechanics are coming along well.

I will be doing another soon...its very challenging to me

Like I said on "another" forum, it should have had a bolster and handle slab on both sides of the knife IMHO.

Other than that: very nice folder!

kind regards,

Jos

I agree with Jos.

I am not sure about the handle shape. It is a beautiful knife.

'innovative' was one of the first words that crossed my mind upon laying eyes on this one. Keep up the good work, Spencer.

That would make three of us. But I love the look, Spence. That is about the only way you can get a sharpened swedge on a folder.

I like the handle SHAPE, but the assymetrical treatment is NOT working on this knife....keep trying, you'll get there.;)

Here's another picture i want to slip in....why does it not work..?

I actually really like the way this looks, I think the assymetrical look fits it. The only thing that I really cant decide on is the pocket clip, I love how it's integrated... but I cant decide if I like the torn look.

Edit: I keep coming back to this, the more I look at it, the more I like it. I don't think anything needs to be changed.

That was a detail I didn't care for also. I like the basic integrated design but not the rough edge. The ironwood is REALLY nice, and the blade shape looks good too.

Looks good Spence -- party on the front side, bidness on the back. :D
