All right, why didn't anyone tell me how nice the Mnandi's were? I got my first one two days ago and it's hardly left my hand since then.
It is much smaller and lighter feeling than the pictures had me believing. It looks only a bit smaller than a small Sebbie in pics, but in reality it is a 'gentleman's knife' par excellence. The blade is quite slim as are the handles, with the clip installed the knife feels great, it is also very light. I have relatively small hands and I can open the Mnandi one-handed easily, using the nail nicks just like a thumbstud. It opens so smoothly it is almost sinful.
Despite its small feel, the blade is actually quite long in proportion to the handle. It is also quite thin, comes very sharp, and without the thumbstuds is a cutter all the way up.
The wood inlay is beautiful--I got African Blackwood and the dark wood (not black) is a great contrast to the polished titanium and satin blade.
I can't believe I've written "first" like I'm ready for another!

Congrats on an excellent purchase Greg. I have medium size hands and feel the same way. It's a gentlemens knife to be sure, but large enough to be used for some larger chores if needed. Hope you get lots of use out of it. Do you have any small Sebenza's? Also watch out for the ivory and Damascus ones, they'll get ya!

;)

Glad to hear it. I'm thinking of which wood to get for my first Mnandi.

I've been ogling the mnandi for awhile. What a stunningly gorgeous knife. The main thing thats been holding me back is that I assumed it couldn't be opened with one hand. Now I know better.

It is a remarkable knife, isn't it? I think what I appreciate most about CRK folders, especially the Mnandi, is their absolute minimalist dimensions and the quality of the work. There is no more handle than is needed to cover the blade when closed and the fit of the parts shows the tightness of the fit.

I too was surprised at the ease of opening one-handed. You expect that thumb ridge to be too sharp but it simply isn't.

Congrats!

I got to handle one at Blade and I'm sold too -- true gents knife!

OK guys, here's a pic. I wanted to wait until I got the slipcase made.
The leather is 'ostrich' and the small bead is silver. I got them both in Chiang Mai, Thailand, so the case is also a reminder of my trip.
As mentioned above the Mnandi is African Blackwood.

That is awesome! great combination....love it!

Congrats on a great knife that will be with you for a long time! They really are addicting, I have 2 now and wouldn't mind getting another.

I've been looking for a quality EDC knife -- not too big, something I can easily carry in my pocket at work (professional environment).

Mine has coco-bolo scales. It is simply beautiful craftsmanship. I can't stop looking at it. IMHO this is close to the perfect gentleman's folder - the right size, great looking, light enough not to weigh in your pocket too much.

I was able to side-by-side the small sebenza, and this was just a little smaller, more discrete. Also - does not look quite as threatening perhaps.... more like the old pen-knives my grandfather used to carry.

I love it.
