Made up a modern waki prototype. Made a few sloppy errors, which I'm aware of, and plan on correcting on the next renditions. Wanted to get some feedback on whether I need to increase the curve any more, and particularly, what I ought to do in the guard area, if I don't want to do a tsuba or anything particularly complicated. Is what I have too small? Should I even have a guard? What do you think of the contoured and textured style of the cocobolo handle? Thanks!

Also, grinding fullers with an angle grinder is hard! Need to find a better way to get the depth right.

okay, i seriously like the blade shape... it's awesome.

I actually think the overall shape, size, and design is very nice. That'll make a great zombie killer

The guard is a good thing. The last thing you want is to loose your fingers when stabbing. I prefer G10 to wood, but it looks nice

Thanks for the input. I've made the guard a little larger on the newest rendition. This one is 1095. The next one is 5160. I'm probably going to do a maple or redwood burl handle, but I've been thinking about doing black/green G10. We'll have to see.

Here's the newest one:

I would recommend using a spring-fuller if you hand-forged that blade. And I think that the hilt should have been a bit longer to facilitate a two-handed use if necessary.
