Bought my first Mora at Smoky Mtn. knife works this weekend. I got the Traditional Mora #2, 4" in carbon steel. it was the last one they had & he couldnt find the sheath. it came very sharp & was only $10.99. I bought a leather sheath for $1.00 out of their barrel of sheaths. the ones that were with the other Mora traditional knives were thin plastic. It will work great for food prep & other lite chores.

Congrats and welcome to Mora ownership. I have six of them but still don't have a traditional wood handled model yet.

Congrats on getting to SMKW too. There isn't a decent knife/cutlery store within a hundred miles of here. One of these days I'll get there.

I'm still on the fence with Scandi's, but Moras are some of the most razor sharp knives I've handled. And they fly through wood like crazy.

What's not to like? I admit they have week edge's, just don't pry with 'em.

You are going to be ticked when you find yourself using that more than that crazy sharpened busse you have :)

Good choice:thumbup:. My favorite model right there.
That's how it starts though...

Soooooooooooo true!!! Moras are my most used knives...and I have a hard time justifying some 10x more expensive knives I got...

I loves me some Moras. I have one in my camping pack, on my laptop bag, in my tool bucket, on the belt of my proteus, and one that lives in the kitchen specifically for cooking. My poor Spyderco Bushcraft has seen precious little use since I started my Mora love affair. I've even gone so far as to order orange Kydex and make a sheath to match my orange Craftsman.

Mora's are great. I carried a classic #2 for years during camping trips and have a classic #1 too, bought them both in the Swedish city of Mora, which makes them special to me. Currently it's a Mora 2000 that I use for camping. Enjoy!

diddo on the #2 congrats

this pic shows how I include a few patches of char cloth (under the tape) on another of my #2's; this was my first and you can see from the blade that I learned to NOT baton through a knotty piece of wood

Even though I have some nicer knives that I like a lot, it is nevertheless the humble Mora 510 that I reach for and use the most.

I always keep a #2 in the pack for a backup. When I use one for my main blae, I reach for the 911.

Moras are great knives.. I use them quite frequently, and are not to expensive to worry about losing them.
