This knife was my third attempt at making a two blade folder. The other two tries were scrapped about half way into the project. The main blade of this knife is a clip-point blade. The second blade is a sheep-foot blade. Both blades work off the same spring. This is what was giving me the most trouble in my earlier two tries. This knife has brass liners and pins, nickel silver bolsters and pins, 01 tool steel blades, and cocobolo Dymondwood scales. The knife is 3 1/4 inche closed. The clip-point blade is 2 1/4th inches, and the sheep-foot blade is 1 5/8ths inches.

It is a nice job Chris.....Aren't there supposed to be a gap between the bolster and scale. I always leave a gap for....hmmm...expansion.

Boy is this guy smokin' or what! Nice work Chris, she's a real beauty. I love to see those slip joint knives when they're custom made. :)

Chris, those are beautiful blades, just classic enough for respectability, but subtly individual - the elongated belly of the clip blade, abreviated front of the sheepsfoot. Really nice knife.

How many of your knives do you carry? Just curious. Something like that, I'd have to carry it around for bragging.

Thanks everyone.

Michael, I solder the bolsters on with silver solder. I have a tutorial on my web page showing how I make my slip joint folder. Some of my methods have changed since writing the tutorial, but you should be able to get a good idea of how I solder the bolsters. Just follow the link at the bottom of this post.

Dave, I usually just carry one knife at a time, but sometimes it can be a real tough choice which one. I usually just carry my favorite knife. Which is my favorite? Usually the one I just finished.

Nice Chris
I'm getting back into folders and your helping
to get the juices flowing again, it's been
over 25 years since the last one,, I gotta do it...:)
I like it..

Chris, Nice work. I still have my first slip joint in the works (for 5 years now) Some people maybe have trouble making them. Yours looks very nice! Mother of pearl next.
