this knife is a number of 'firsts' for me. it's my first (relatively) inexpensive knive in a while. it's my first AUS-6 ever and it's my first experience with CRKT.
as i walk around it:
-all the hardware is tight.
-no sharp edges where they shouldn't be
-good blade/handle ratio.
-bland but effective pocket clip
the blade:
-nice deep hollow grind
-SCARY sharp out of the box
-grind just a little higher on one side, barely visible
the grip:
-COMFY. really. even with the finger cut-outs it fits my (size M) hand perfectly.
-the zytel scales have enough texture to give good purchase. but forget it in the wet. but again, there are the cut-outs.
-scales and liners line up perfect.
the action:
-way smooth. no 'metallic' noise at all. in fact no noise at all.
-liner stops about 2/3 across the tang, even after a vicious wrist flick opening (repeated).
-spine whack no problem.
-LAWKS stays put even when knife dropped on pommel.
-locking liner pretty deep-set. should be difficult to torque it loose, even without the LAWKS
other observations:
-for the tactically minded this knife also begs for reverse grip. feels very natural and the lightening holes really help index grip transition.
-overall i'm very impressed with the quality for the price. this one will be my new 'semi-disposable' knife, next to the Endura.
thanks for your time,
Metis
