After some starts with 1095 and files a few years ago, I decided to purchase a Wilmont LB1000 2x72 single speed grinder. The learning curve was not too steep. The videos and WIPS by the pros here have been a great help. I was bitten by the knife bug about a year prior to my retirement while modifying Becker knives. Drawing my design ideas and learning to fabricate from the craftsmen here has added much to my creative life. Here are some of my in progress designs.

Top Wharncliffe: .156" A2, 3.5" blade slight overall dimensional changes from the lower knife.
Bottom Wharncliffe: .156" 1084, 3.5" blade

This 6.5" fighter in .188" 1095, started out as a 8" file made knife. It became smaller learning to us e the LB1000.

This is a 4.25" hunter in .188" 1095. There are five more of these, three of which I have made slight changes to achieve better fit for my hand.

Thank you for looking. Any and all feedback is welcome.

Absolutely awesome. Im stuck in this rut where I have trouble coming up with real unique designs like these. As for feedback, have you considered doing swedges? They would certainly add a lot of dimension and character to already great designs.

Thanks for looking. As for adding swedges, that depends. These blades are still in progress and I use bevels rather than swedges. On these smaller blades, a 2 or 3mm bevel works well visually and probably helps the blade as it passes through whatever medium it is cutting. When I was modding the larger Becker knives, I did use a large swedge.
The professional knife makers on this site have posted their work. Look at this ever increasing body of knife making design and skill. Their work has inspired me to draw my ideas and educate my eye.
