The wife gave me a Rat 1 folder for Christmas. I have to say she chose well, I was impressed. So far my collection has been made up of primarily Benchmades and Kershaws and the first I'd really heard of OKC was from reading this board. I'm not sure if there is better bang for the buck out there than this knife. Must...have...more...

They are great. I have been carrying mine more in the last month or so. Really enjoying its versatility.

My OKC RAT1 has been in my EDC rotation for over a year and a half and it is my favorite EDC knife! I have used it for just about everything - including cutting PVC pipe! It has never failed or given me any issues whatsoever. The pivot screw came just slightly loose from the factory, but once I tightened it a little it has been stellar ever since.

I just got a rat 1 from another bf member. I am really liking it so far. Nice slim in the pocket and can get razor sharp real quick even on the bottom of a coffee cup.

I have been carrying one of these to work for the past couple of weeks, it's definitely becoming one of my favorite folders.

congrats , you got a really nice knife.

i have both RAT1 & RAT2, personally i like rat2 more .

I have enjoyed my RAT 1 for a few years now and recently added the RAT 2, which gets far more EDC time. Both are wonderful knives, high quality at reasonable cost. Thumbs up on both.

Congratulations. I'm new to the Rat line of knives and have a couple Rat-2's. I love them and one has been my EDC since getting it. I'm thinking the Rat-1 is larger than what I'm interested in getting.

RAT 1 is awesome. I don't think it's possible for there to be a better value for the money.

I'm still amazed at the quality of fit and finish on this knife. I think it compares favorably with knives costing 4-5 times as much. The AUS-8 blade is fine with me too, I'm not really a steel snob.

I love your Rat-2 model. I don't own a Rat-1 as of yet, but definitely will. Can you discuss any upcoming changes to either?

I'm especially interested in the Rat-2.

nascar,

Last year, we introduced the assisted opener RAT Folders. We are playing around with some different handle colors, right now. As a general rule of thumb, we don't want to "fix what ain't broke".
They are good sellers and very practical knives.
Thanks for all of the good words.

New to OKC with a Rat2.. Super knife.. Sharp out of the box, dead on F&F and smooth opening.. A keeper for sure.. And a great value also.. Rat2 is in my sights next.. John

Thanks for the response. I'm in NJ, so any assisted knives are out of the question. I'd love more texturing and color options for the Rat-2 folder scales.
