I just finished this one for the Eugene Show in April.

Nice little forged drop point hunter. I like the classy look of Macassar Ebony on a hunting knife. The knife is light in the hand and very comfortable. I've learned so much from so many of you.

Specs:
  • Blade Material: 1084/15N20 ladder pattern
  • Blade Length: 4-1/16" from tip to face of guard
  • Total Length: 8-1/18"
  • Blade Thickness: 1/8" at guard with a nice distal taper down to the tip
  • Grind Type: Flat Ground
  • Guard Material: Nickelsilver
  • Spacers: Red, white and red
  • Handle Material: Macassar Ebony
  • Pins: 1/8" Nickelsilver
  • Rc Hardness: 59-60
  • Tang Type: Hidden (pinned)
  • Balance Point: Guard
  • Edge: Sharpened at a 15 degree angle

Comments both good and bad are not only welcome, but desired.

Thanks for looking!!

Looks good to me with the nice damascus and blade, good fit up etc. I really like the spacers, I need to start adding some to mine. Sets stuff off a bit. Interesting handle shape and wood. Nice background also. Have a good one and let me know if you ever be driving north OK. I owe you some hospitality. Jim

Actually, I'm teaching all day in Seattle on February 27th. I've already made tentative plans to spend some time in Tom Kernan's shop a couple of evenings that week making damascus. Maybe the three of us can get together sometime that week.

Looks good Scott, I like the handle shape and the two pins. I think it has a Mid Eastern look to it. But I dont know its only my opinion.

Love the grip shape.
Love the blade shape.

Perfectamundo!

Some knives just grab ya... This one grabs me. I've returned to look at it several times.

Thanks for the great comments fellas. This makes me feel very good.

Any constructive (read negative) comments on things you don't like about it. I'm always trying to learn more about shapes and designs that people like and don't like.
