Just finished up my first pancake sheath and second sheath over all. Critiques welcomed!

Thank you! Yes the welt does go all the way around. Would it be a good idea to skive down the welt a bit on the outer edge of the belt loops? 3 layers of 7-8oz leather seems pretty thick for around a belt loop.

Yes and removing it altogether on the spine side might work for ya too on that design.

Is there any danger of catching the stitchline along the spine with the knife tip without a welt along the spine?

Not so much with a drop point like your knife. With a trailing point like a Sharpfinger or something yes. With one of those I’ll do the bottom third or so.
