Not that anyone really cares but after years of being an admitted Benchmade devotee (to which some degree I still am, just not as obsessively so) I got around to picking up my first Spyderco.

A Paramilitary 2.

I get it now.

Thanks. I can tell this is going to be a harsh mistress to my expendable funds.

I already want more Para 2's in different color combos and a carbon fibre stretch. And probably a zdp delica. And why not a military. Uh oh.

It won't be your last..

I thought about it, but I really think the ZDP stretch is good for me.

I don't see any real advantages of the super blue for me in my rainy and often coastal lifestyle.

I live 50 yards from the Pacific Ocean and I'm loving my super blue. Zdp is fun too though I guess. :). I would highly recommend the military. I used to think the pm2 was awesome...until I got a Millie. Speaking of rain and coastal living. Check out my all time favorite the pacific salt!!

Aaaaaaaaaand now I have a 2nd para 2. Digi cam satin. It does begin.

I will give the super blue another look. Also the salt

I handled a friend's S35VN Earth Brown PM2, and knew I would need some type of the knife someday. I ended up finding a CTS-204P and pounced!

That FFG slices like nothing else i've used yet.

It's only just begun....

I just got my first Para 2 (Black with Digi-Camo). No blade play and blade is fairly centered between the scales. It is awesome except for the fact that it is very stiff. It opens smoothly, no grinding or stutters, but I can't seem to flick it open like in all the Para 2 YT videos! I have to thumb it all the way until it locks. Nor can I close it with gravity. I have to unlock it and close the blade with my other hand. Is it suppose to be this stiff?

edit: Loosening the pivot screw less than a 1/4 of a turn gives the looseness I was seeing in videos, but introduces blade play. So I re-tightened it.

My good friend has had his Brown Sprint for over a year now, and told me that it loosens up nicely after awhile of use. He opened my new 204P and said he remembered how snug his was at first too. Just a little break in time is all.

Mine was the same. Loosen it and put a drop of oil on the pivot, then you can tighten it again and it should fly open everytime :D

My PM2 was the same when I bought it new. Loosen the pivot screw a little and put a drop of oil in there, then tighten it up and it should fly out

I'm addicted to Spyderco's. I've sold off many of my other knives because of them. I started with the Gayle Bradley in August. Since then my collection is:

Gayle Bradley (currently MIA, hopefully will find it this weekend when I clean my pit of an apartment)
Dragonfly ZDP-189
Nilakka
PM2 Camo/Satin
Waved Endura
Caly 3 CF/ZDP
Schempp Rock
Manix 2 XHP

I'm sure more are on the way, just don't know what to get next.
