Purchased a Wii for the family recently and it is a fun family thing. Kinda fun being out-bowled by a 4 year ol !!

Instead of burdening my 3 year old Dell tower with a new video game for ME, I'd like to get one for the Wii.
The Dell is working fine, but I'm sure any newer game would force me into a new grahpics card, more RAm, etc.

Any good FPS games anyone know about that work well with the Wii. ??????

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Call of Duty, Black Ops is ok... I just started playing it when I was home last month on R&R, so I'm not really good with the controls, hence, not really good at staying alive.

Call of Duty and Medal of Honor should be pretty good. My stepson loves those, but i found the controls difficult to master. It could be because im getting old :D

I liked playing The Conduit. It was fast-paced, had loads of shootouts and was easy to learn. Kept playing it untill i got stuck in a level.

Got Goldeneye for my younger bro-in law for his Wii and it was interesting. We didnt play it much so I cant say much about the length of the game or how it is later on but what I played of it was pretty cool.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles was pretty cool. It's a FPS, but on rails-your character moves of his own accord. Gave it kind of an arcade feel.

A friend of mine has a Wii and got Call of Duty: World at War. It was pretty fun although the controls were hard (he has the wii blaster thing). It seemed to be easier with the gun attachment, but the aiming was a bit off (may have just been where the sensor was.)

Like some others said the COD or Medal of Honor series are good. I saw Goldeneye and it looks pretty fun.. its an updated throwback to the N64 version (no slappers!)

Conduit and the upcoming Conduit 2 are more or less the HALO of Wii. Honorable mentions for Black Ops. If you want arcade light gun shooting fun, you can't be House of the Dead: Overkill. It's even more fun if you get a Nyko gun bracket. We warned...House of the Dead spares no language and adult content. It's a hilarious trip though akin to a funny grindhouse flicks of yore.

EDIT: Golden Eye is not bad either, but Conduit is more fun IMO.

I would recommend upgrading you computer. Battlefield 3 is going to be groundbreaking when it comes out this fall.

+1 to that. Maybe a bit too ultra-realistic in an already crowded sea of realistic middle-east shooters imo, but it does look damn good so far.

As long as you don't play anything on the PC, 360, or PS3, then some of the Wii games are decent. The Metroid games are pretty fun and Resident Evil 4 is definitely worth a purchase.

+1, you can build a great budget gaming system for $600-$700(+cost of monitor) and be able to run the newest games on 1920X1080 resolution and some pretty good graphics. Consoles IMO are becoming extremely outdated since the graphics cards have advanced a lot since the PS3 and Xbox came out(PS3 and Xbox are stuck with DX9 level of graphics, DX11 cards are already out).

If you do upgrade then I'd suggest ARMA 2 CO, it's a big change from all the usual first person shooters where you are stuck in a tiny map. It has a 225km^2 map and you can play it however you want from a gigantic aerial battle, tank battles or infantry battles(or all together).

I certainly hope Dice gets their $h!+ together on this before they release it. BF2 was a disaster and after a couple patches the game was unrecognizable, it was completely nerfed due to crybabies. BF2BC is really a good game too.

Of all the 3 consoles the Wii is my favorite for FPS due to the wiimote aiming (still no console beats a PC for FPS). There are quite a few good ones and even some exclusive ones. Here are my favorites:

1. Goldeneye: A remake of the original. Great game, only bad thing they replaced Pierce Bronsan with Daniel Craig.
2. Metroid Prime 3: Best Metroid yet.
3. The Conduit: Lots of fun, a bit short.
4. CoD: Call of Duty, do I need to say more :)
5. Medal of Honor: Heroes 2

Semi FPS:

1) Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition: Even if you have played this one on GC or PS2 the Wii version feels quite different due to the controller, great over the shoulder shooter.

2) Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles: A must for any RE fan. Those are on rails shooters.

3) Dead Space Extraction: Another on rails shooter. Very different in play from the main franchise.

Even though it's not a FPS, you can download ExciteBike world tour through the wii shop and play online. (I haven't stopped playing since I got it a couple of weeks ago)

I would avoid House of the Dead Return (it's 2 and 3) unless you get it really cheap. It's nowhere near as good as overkill.

another vote for Resident Evil 4,,, its super fun and addictive, with loads of replay value. and I think you can pick up a new copy for around 10 bucks

Also look for FPS games for the game cube, because you can use the GC games in the wii as well.

Plus the good thing with the Wii is that some releases don't get good reviews, but are great games and you can get them really cheap. (Right now I'm rocking out with Metal Slug Anthology, the game paid for itself just from the volume of continues I used, so many quarters and time wasted on that series)
