This is my first pipe hawk. The head was forged from 1 1/2 x 6 inch mild steel with 1084 forgewelded in for the cutting edge, and features filed and carved mouldings and an aged finish. The haft is curly maple finished with Tru Oil. Rawhide wrappping top and braintanned buckskin at the the bottom. The top cap is wrought iron underlayed with copper and the smoke plug is a small, thin damascus knife that was a hidden surprise for the customer. The mouthpiece is deer antler.
