so after going on a little bit of a knife spending spree these last couple of weeks i have decided that i can only get 2 more knives. the first is the ZT 561 when my local shop gets them in, the second will be the PM2. the problem is, is that i can not decide which PM to get. i was thinking of just picking up the plain jane s30v model. however i decided that since blue is my favorite color i should look at the m390 sprint...so the short and skinny of it is that i need help decided spend anywhere from 85 or 200. help me out BF:thumbup:

I happen to like the blue one myself.

This is where I keep mine:

I got the S30V one first and loved it. Now I have the orange too and am after the blue. Its a great knife no matter which version you get.

I wasn't a huge fan of my PM2 but it grows on me every time that I carry it. I have the brown S35VN version.

i think you should start with the standard variant, and see how much you like it. from there, you can decide on anything.

Another way to look at it is that the S30V versions are standard production. The M390, S90V, and other steel/handle color variants are sprints. If you really don't like it enough to keep it, you may have a better chance of recovering a higher percentage of your purchase price wth a sprint than a standard production model as long as it isn't damaged, modded, or heavily used.

There is nothing wrong with the standard model and I considered getting one of those to try out first. One thing that swayed me the other way was that at the time it was hard to find the standard models. Black G10 is very practical for an EDC knife and I have several other models with black G10. S30V is good steel and is better than the standard steel used my most manufacturers in their average production models.

True, you can test the Para2 out to see if you like it if you do not want to pay extra for a sprint run but remember that if the sprint run is still in good condition, you can sell it and sometimes for a profit if you get the right buyer.

Well, If You Have Handled The Para2 You Already Know You Like It And Want One And Will Carry And Use It.
So Since You Already Know This Needed Information... I Say Go Blue. I Owned A Regular One For A Long Time And Was Able To Trade It With A Manix 2 For A ZT 0301 Blem And A SOG Topo Meridian With A Black Blade....
Don't Much Care For SOG, But The ZT Was Worth It.

Anyways... I Loved The Para2 And It Was One Of My Favorite Knives, The Only Reason It Went Was Because I Just Didn't Use It Anymore After I Got My Chokwe. That And I'm Hooked On Ti Frame Locks.

The Para2 Is A Great Knife, And M390 Is An EXCELLENT If Not The Best Super Steel Out There, And Blue Is Just An Amazing Color(My Favorite As Well), So I'm Hoping To Get A Blue One Soon! So I Say, Go With That.

well looks like its gonna be the blue one. gonna be a week or 2 before i get the funds though ohh well.

The brown s35vn is surprising me everyday by its everyday performance and ease of sharpening
The brown scales are a sweet shade and this can still be found at a fair price
