First post and a great disappointment

Just wanted to say hi after lurking for a while and enjoying the news and views of this forum. I look forward to a long and fruitful (!?) case of HIKV. I just sent away my money for Uncle Bill to keep an eye out for a nice matched pair of AKs, to be a gift for myself and my best man just before my impending nuptuials...

Besides salivating at some of the pics posted (especially Alan's "Ashley"), my first sign of HIKV was at the mall yesterday. After a long deathmarch carrying packages for SHMBO through the teeming crowd, I did a triple-take and near heart-attack at seeing the words Himalayan Imports atop one of the little mid-corridor kiosks. "Excellent" I thought in my haze, "Uncle Bill finally got a distributor, and right here in town too." But then I was crushed as it turned out to be just touristy stuff allegedly from Nepal... Oh well at least I can dream...

edit: changed the title just for you Yvsa! I knew it would get some of you riled up, and here I am defenceless with no khukuri :D
 
Welcome to the forums. I was just passing through looking at pictures and now I'm stuck here. I never intended to post anything, just dig for information. Flee before you lose your sanity. :D

...asked about the Dashain period - just saw on a business post, on a Nepali site, that they would not fill orders between Oct. 22 and Nov. 7.
 
Just think Uncle, as "handsome" as they all must be at BirGhorka round about now, they are too busy fighting off the women to even think about firing up the forges. who knows what kind of awful accidents might befall them if they tried to start showing off for the ladies. I know that the several times I've almost met my maker that there was a lady involved directly or indirectly!:D :D :D :D ;)
 
Don't tell me about hazards and ladies!!! Many of the kamis have several wives so they have more than their share of these problems. Bura is living with wife no. 3, for example, and the two love to fight. Too much for me!!!!!
 
You all stop talking about women problems. Dave sounds like he would be a great brother-in-law. Now don't ya'll make him gun shy!!

Besides, we finally found Jennifer a fella we didn't have to pay. Don't ruin it for us!!! HA!HA!HA!ha!ha!ha!ha!;) ;)
