I've been lurking on this site for some time now, but just joined. There's very good information here. I'm still very much a beginner knife maker and I've only made a total of 16 so far: Two knives from 52100, 2 knives from Elmax (very hard to work on with my available tools), and the rest from CPM-3V (relatively easy to work on with my available tools). Available tools consist of a 10" disc sander, small drill press, a filing jig, hacksaw, dremel (only used on handle scales) and several cheap files. All knives are made by the stock removal method.
Below is a knife I just finished putting an edge on today. It's 12" overall with a 7.5" blade. CPM-3V hardened to Rc 60-61 by Paul Bos. I like the as-recieved patina from the heat treatment and didn't make any effort to remove it. I have made some of my own micarta, but the handle scales on this knife are whatever was on sale at usaknifemaker.com (3/8" black canvas micarta I believe).
Thanks for looking!
