I have been lurking around on this forum for about 2 months now and finally decided to register. I have yet to decide if this forum is a good thing or not given the fact that I am about $650.00 poorer since finding it.
Today I received my first custom folder, an Elishewitz Ares model. It has a titanium handle and the blade locks up via the frame. The knife seems very well made. There is no play in the blade and it is shaving sharp. The blade locks up is solid and precise. The frame and blade are black giving the knife more of a tactical look. Overall, I am well pleased. I have an eerie feeling that this will not be my last custom.

Look at it this way. Knife collecting may be adictive and expensive, but they don't take up as much space as classic cars.:) :D ;)

Welcome, congrats and enjoy.

Welcome to the wonderful world of customs! I still buy factory knives, but once you take that first plunge into customs, it's hard to stop. (Except for the lack of funds of course!) You picked a really nice knife to start with by the way.

You picked a fine maker for your first custom. I really like allen's knives.

Glad to have you join us and you are correct. This will not be your last custom.

Come in,come in and leave your wallet at the door.:) Sounds like you got a real nice one for your first, congrats.
