Alright guys! This is my first post in the Emerson subforum, and I am happy to be here. About a year ago I had been lusting to try an Emerson, and on a whim, traded a CRK for a Spyderco Southard, and a Gentleman Jim. All I can come up with, is I must have gotten a dud. It had terrible fit and finish, the scales were out of alignment with the liners by at least .050", and there was terrible lock rock and blade play unless the pivot was CRANKED DOWN! I took it down, cleaned it, inspected it and put it back together twice just to make sure there wern't some other issues at play. I ended up selling it at a loss and wiped my hands of Emerson. I will say that the blade took a nice sharp edge. I know I could have sent it in, and it would have been fixed, but I was let down and just wanted rid of it. I havent even looked at them since then, until last week. On a split second decision, I traded into a CQC-15 in exchange for a ZT 0801BW. It came a few days later and my reaction was similar to that of a 13 year old girl with the new Bieber album. I was all like "O....M.....G, this this is just sooooo perfect!" .................AND........I was hooked. That was less than 10 days ago. You will see the aftermath in the pictures below.
