first post- knives for the Sahara

Hi folks- new member, and proud new owner of a Strider SMF NSN, which I got info about from this forum. Here are the knives that will be coming along for a two month overland adventure in the Sahara, leaving Oct.31. Aptly enough, the Bark River Knives fixed is a prototype called the "Sahara". I had to get it, as it does fit the bill for what I wanted - 5.25" A2 blade with a great profile. Real happy with the Strider so far - thing really is built like a tank! The Benchmade has been my faithful EDC for the last 10 years, and I thought the Spyderco Cat would round things out nicely...

What countries in the Sahara?
Be careful travelling those countries with fixed blades or flippers- some of them are paranoid.
Morocco is on high alert for terrorism, so if they find knives, who knows?
However, welcome to the forum and good job on your new purchase.
