Hello everyone, I've been lurking for a while on the forums and just decided to make my first post today. I've had a BK2 for a few months now and yesterday I decided to force a patina on it. I've been working on this patina since yesterday, because I didn't like my first results, etc. I also had some trouble with accidental rusting from the vinegar during the patina process, but after today's patina it came out well.

As for the rest of my knife story, I usually just wrap it in first aid tape, to help out with the grip. I'm still using the stock sheath and I don't mind its deficiencies that much. :D

Anyways, here's the pics, I hope to add another layer of natural patina as time goes by.

Hope you liked the pics! It's my first patina, now I'm working on a machete patina out of boredom

Welcome to the SubForum, stick around! I like that patina, very natural looking.

Great looking knife. Thanks for taking the time to post it up here.

Looks good man, whatever happened with the first patina this one came out nice. The skull bead is sweet. What material is the lanyard made out of? Doesn't look like paracord.

Welcome! Hope you stay a while, that Patina looks awesome! BK-2 is one hell of a knife...

Welcome to Becker Knife and Tool! Stick around and get your Beckerhead number, cause there is all kinds of awesome stuff going on here all the time, and lots of great things exclusive to Beckerheads only. Nice looking bead.

Hey, welcome to the forum, its a great place. Its good to see another lurker getting on board :).

What did you change about the patina to make it stop rusting?

Hey all, thanks for the replies! The lanyard is just a leftover shoestring I had, I always keep the extra shoestring that sometimes comes with a new pair. As for the patina, the previous patina would keep rusting on the edges like crazy (I think so, unless brownish/yellow/orange rust isn't the same as red rust). It was also really thin so it came out with just simple scrubbing. I also live in a really humid place so maybe that had something to do with it. :S After multiple rusts I just decided to dip the whole knife in a vinegar jar.

Widerstand, I'll make sure to take some pics next time I'm out and about!
