Hey guys i just wanted to introduce myself first because this is my first post on the website, i have been a lingerer for a while now and decided to finally made an account.

Now about the knife i am an avid fisherman and i found this knife in an old tackle box and i recently looked it up and apparently these things go for $300 with a sheath in good condition its a buck akonua. I dont have the sheath and the blade it preatty beat up but still hold an edge and there is no visible rust.
Thanks

$300 is a bit of of a stretch in my opinion. The last Akonua that I aquired is a like new one with sheath but no box and is the older model with the micarta handles. I paid around $80 for it but that was a bargain. I see right now, one like yours in great condition with the sheath for a "buy it now" price of $99 and one brand new in the box with sheath and paperwork for $200.

You can tell the age of yours by the date mark on the tang next to USA. It will be a mark ( I can't see it well enough in your photos) that you will find on this chart:

Plumber, I agree with your info.. Still, I don't see that model much at shows. People like it and don't let them float around much. Buck began using that laminate in 85 with the square guard and that one most likely has 425 steel. DM
