First of all, hello everyone! It's me, G from the lowlands up north (Holland). Somehow last year i got infected with the knife virus. However i believe it had been laying dormant since early childhood.
So i acquired some Benchmades and some Gerbers over the last year, recently i bought 2 Adamas 275's of Ebay. I loved the design and wanted to display one. I also loved the fact that it looked like the ultimate folder and i have plans on putting the other one to work in the Ardennes by the end of this month.
So here's what i noticed. The twins are not identical twins. One has painted G10 (Sand color) The other has through and through colored G10
Number one has the blade black removed at the pivot, making operation much smoother. The other one has a fully blackened blade.
Makes you wonder why did they change it? I personally like the full color/non fully blackened version better. It's just a few small improvements that really make it seem more valuable and smoother functioning.
What i did was disassemble both and build one great collector knife and a banger out of the parts. Sharpened by me, i can shave my arm which is sharp enough for me. It's at 30 degrees inclusive tapering to a 40 degree edge. It's done partly freehand to get a beveled edge. Finishing comes from sharpmaker and a homemade strop with compound.
So without further ado, here's Franken 275...
