Hello everyone,
I've been lurking for sometime now and figured it was time to throw out my first post. There is likely a "new member " intro thread, but since I spend all of my time here at the Kershaw/ZT section, I figured this place is as good as any.
I've been around guns and knives since I can remember, and have many of both, but would not call myself a collector. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I never had what I would consider any high end knives, just a lot of Gerbers and Bucks mostly. I found myself drooling over a Kershaw Leek that a friend had, so I began researching. Of all the brands I've studied, I' m drawn to the Kershaw/Zero Tolerance knives. Made in the states, solidly built, and gorgeous to boot. I really look forward to learning more from you folks and sharing my next obsession with some like minded folks! So far, and it's early yet, I have managed to pick up 2 Kershaw's and 1 ZT. I bought 1 at Dicks sporting Goods, found this site, and ordered the other 2 from the Kershawguy. I will attempt to attach a picture showing my humble beginnings of my Kershaw/ZT collection. Which pales in comparison to many folks on here. I have a Kershaw Blackout, Kershaw black Leek, and a Zero Tolerance 0350. First assisted opening blades I've ever had, my index finger and thumb are raw, thank you Ken Onion! Next on my short list are the Knockout, RAM, and 0561.
Thanks for reading and again, I look forward to making a few new friends and learning a lot about some really cool blades!

From my brief time here, I think someone will shortly say no Kershaw/ZT collection can be considered legit without a Blur or two (starts looking for money for a Blur)

Great start! Welcome, stick around and you will enjoy it. Pick up a R.A.M. first, as it's discontinued. You won't regret it!

And thanks for supporting Dave

Welcome Va boy! It has been a Va invasion as of late! You can't get much better than kershawguy! I will agree with the others and recommend a R.A.M.! They are just such a cool piece, and discontinued! I would also recommend a blur! You have a great start and don't worry, because we all start from humble beginings!

Welcome! Now quick, there's no time to waste! Get a Carbon Fiber Blur now! The 1670CF154. Limited run, about 850 pieces made, and once they're gone, they'll be much more expensive to buy if you ever decide to get one. If you don't like it, you'll definitely get pretty much what you paid for it.

Since you've been reading this forum, you know how awesome it is. Get one!

That said, again welcome. How's that Blackout?

First of all, as another VA boy, you are due extra respect. Welcome to the club. Make some noise, stand up for our Dominion.

As for knives, you have made a really good start, no mistakes (I made plenty). I started late in life so have been buying like crazy to make up for the time lost. Take your time and make good choices. Can't go wrong with a ZT. I've been craving either a 0350 or 0550, will probably go for the 0350 at some point due to the shorter blade.

Where I live there aren't many good knife stores so I shop a lot on the internet, which means losing the chance to handle a knife. Youtube videos help in that regard. Anyway, enjoy the ride. Locutus from Alexandria.

Lol welcome to the family, be warned though much more of your money will be going to kershaw guy as time passes.

Welcome and great start!, my first ZT/kershaw was the 350. Been hooked ever since. You will love the 561 when you get it. it's my main EDC. love the elmax. And good going on supporting Kershawguy!

Welcome! I say grab a ram while they are still readily available. While they are not for everybody many folks like me appreciate their uniqueness. I enjoy the sound of it locking up when flipped plus it is very comfortable in the hand imo.

Thanks so much for the welcome folks. Seems to be a friendly bunch in here, with some fellow Virginians to boot!
I can really see this getting out of hand.....fast! My wife keeps asking why I "need" another knife, I asked her why she needed so many shoes.
To answer your question, Sticktodrum, the Blackout is...okay. It's not going to be my EDC, but was my first Kershaw purchase, so i went into that purchase somewhat a Kershaw virgin. I'm not too excited about the feel of the handle compared to the G10 on my ZT, unfair comparison I suppose. I will also take the advice given and pick up the RAM and CF Blur ASAP, you guys are enablers, you know that right!
One more thing, Bad_Juju, your location states Stanleytown, VA, is that the Stanleytown I am familiar with? As in next to Fort Trial Baptist, and Stoneleigh?
Glad to see everyone gives Kershawguy a thumbs up, I ordered from him Saturday evening, knives were here Monday, very fast delivery indeed!

Stoneleigh mansion? Yep, the former furniture capital of the world along with Bassett. Where you at?

@ bad_juju, I figured that was where you were at! I live in Ridgeway, on the Horse Pasture side. Old Country Store ring a bell?
Small world. Maybe we can get together sometime, but let me build up my collection first as it is a bit sparse at the moment!
