  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

My Dad had a bunch of carpenter tools that he purchased in the 50s. Most of them were branded Lakeside, from Montgomery Ward. I'm planning to clean them up and give them to my son.

Would anyone case to share any information about the lakeside brand?

Larry

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of information about who actually made the tools marked "Lakeside", unlike Sears "Craftsman" brand tools.
Some of the planes marked "Lakeside"could be identified by some of their characteristics, like the shape of the lateral lever. A photo would help.
The Lakeside tools I've had are high quality and your son should be very happy with them. Just don't over-clean them.

I am sure that some of them at one point of time were made by Warren, Kelly. Some markings point to Mann Edge Tool Co and possibly James H Mann
