Hi all,

I first found out about BladeForums by visiting CandlePowerForums and I'm happy to have found you.

I'm nothing special, I collect flashlights and knives that are inexpensive, but still very pleasing to me.

I've enjoyed reading your posts and hope that I can contriubute in some small way.

Now how do I create a signature?

Thanks,
Dan

Welcome to Bladeforums. What's your moniker on CPF? I'm the same old cosine there as here.

This is a great place to hang out and discuss knives. But, I'll tell a newbie to take a while and explore all the sub-forums here on this site. There are many, many sub-forums, and if you don't know them moderately well, you run the risk of having your first couple threads moved. ;)

In fact, the mod of Community Center, K.V., doesn't like knife talk here. So, depending how "knifey" this thread gets it might be moved.

About sigs: [sales pitch on]Signatures are only available to paying members of this forum. Click on the "Upgrade your forums experience" link above to becoming a paying member and get the opportunity to have a sig! [/sales pitch off] :D

Now, the obligatory question for a newbie: What do you have for knives, and what's your favorite?

Edit: Why don't you take the above question of mine and start a new thread in the General Knife Discussion forum with that topic? K.V. would appreciate it (sorry for asking such a question here, K.V. :o ) and you'll meet more members there.

Welcome! Please enjoy your time at BFC. You will definitely learn a few things and you may have a few things to teach us. As a newcomer I hope you took the time to read the announcement I placed at the top of the forum. It is a guide to help you get a handle on where to post certain topics and the general rules of the Community Forum.

As a registered user you are not permitted to have sig lines. You will need upgrade to Basic Membership to get one.

Of course you are something special. You are one of a kind, unique. Just like everyone else.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the kind welcome :) . I have read the rules and will do my best to follow them.

cosine,

My name is "bruner" both here and on CPF.

After I have a good look around, I might join as a basic member. $10 a year is a very reasonable price for me.

Thanks,
Dan

One of the best ten dollar bills I ever spent!

Welcome bruner / Dan.

The site is worth supporting. Good folks here with lots of passion for knives and a surprising amount of knowledge spread out over a lot of brands/types. Lots of makers, manufacturers, presidents of knife companies post here regularly. There's also a lot of good-natured ribbing and humor once you've been around a while.

Take off your coat and sit a spell.

Welcome to BLADEFORUMS...you will find a great bunch of folks here of all shapes sizes stripes shavings etc......

Good to know. I always like it when people use the same name on different sites. Helps to identify them.
