Hi all my first post here , I hope I am putting it in the right place.
I have an old Buck model 704 maverick that my dad bought me about 10 years ago at a gun show for a project. It was all loose,filthy/grimey and the blade was broken, still is but it is a beautiful knife.
My question is ,how to fix the blade ? Could someone build a new blade ? Could I steal a blade from a late model , say 503 prince for it ? Any help is appreciated.

You almost found the right forum (though you're more than welcome here :D ). If you want a custom blade done, look at the makers in the Knife Makers area. If you're looking to refurbish the knife, The Toolshed is where you should look.

Welcome to the forum!

You might be able to send it back to Buck and have them replace it. Just an option...

Welcome, Andus, to one of the more pleasant sub forums on the net.

We do have a few Knife Mechanics in this folder that not only fix, but can really embellish a knife. Muskrat Man and Oupa come to mind immediately. Hopefully, one will come along and maybe have some good advice for you.

welcome. enjoy the entertaining discussions. there is one going on in practical/tactical concerning the venerable "silent kill". check it out and give us your opinions. perhaps you could tie in a way to use your beater knife in a "silent kill". aside from that thread, nearly everything else in the forums is great. there are true blade gurus here that can answer nearly every question you have.
