Well I've been stalking the the BKT forum for awhile now, so much so that you guys convinced me to pick up a BK2. First impressions are this knife is amazing, and I feel like I could cut a car in half. It is nice and heavy in the hand that makes it feel like I'll be getting some great use out of it during my camping trips and even just around the backyard. But I'm left with a question: now what? I'm thinking I'd like to get a new sheath for it, any suggestions on where I can get a nice Kydex sheath? I'd also like to strip it, I've found most suggest using Klean-Strip and then hitting it with sandpaper. Having never done this before is there anything (besides not getting chemical burns) I should be careful of? Thanks in advance, I'm hoping this isn't the start of some crazy obsession with BKT, however I have a feeling my wallet is in for a hurting.

Here's a couple pictures of my new prized possession:

Welcome to the fray....You might as well accept that u will be buying more beckers! The 2 is the gateway drug into a full-bore 1095 addiction!

just remember to sand in one direction, u can go spine-to-edge or pommel-to-tip....either one will work, but pick one and stay with it, so as to avoid weird crosshatch sanding marks.

Welcome, the 2 was my first as well!

Azwelke or GodSpeed! are the most common local Kydex benders, very good quality, hard to beat the reviews (I don't own any Kydex just yet).

Oh, I guess ThrillBilly might bend Kydex on his off days, but I would be careful, his sheaths tend to make people act really really dumb. :D

My first Becker as well, and still my fav. Welcome to the forum.

Good taste in knives. Welcome. Put some hip waders on and come in the house.

Welcome to the forum..keep your wallet open, as I predict that you will be getting a BK11 or 14 soon..they just seem to go with the BK2.

Godspeed or Azwelke make great sheaths. Not sure what style you are looking for but either one will be able to adapt to your needs.

Great first post, welcome to the forum.

Awesome pick up man. Unfortunately this is the start of a crazy rabbit hole type of obsession. Just pull up a chair, grab some whiskey, and enjoy the ride. And stay of tradewaters lawn. He has a sling bow and dynamite and knows how to use it.

welcome. enjoy the new BeastK2, she won't let you down. just remember she is not a girly girl who likes dresses. she likes to get outside and dirty with the boys.

And I thought I got into it with my knives personalities.... I even named them, and you still topped my snarkiness for them!

Welcome.
You did well by putting up pics in your first post! Take note new guys...Dudepal did it right!
That BK-2 is an animal. It rotates day to day along with the BK-11 as being my favorite Becker, and the 4, and 7, and 9!

Welcome to the dark side.

Don't scratch the black coating, there's a highly addictive drug that get's released
and makes you buy more Beckers (that Ethan he's a crafty one !) :D:D

Welcome to the club.

Now go beat the snot out of it.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Is it best to just PM those guys about sheaths? Unfortunately my current situation won't allow me to pick up any more knives anytime soon, this was a late birthday gift to myself :) Although the 7 and 16 look very nice... One knife at a time. Hopefully I'll strip her down this weekend (that sounded dirtier than intended) Thanks again guys!

I would email them, unless you plan on upgrading, I tried PMing before I paid, didn't work all that well.

Good pick. The 2 was my first. I stripped and sanded it and put a more acute edge on it. I got a kydex sheath from a fella on YouTube. I would echo the above cautions concerning sanding in one direction only. I have sanding marks that I wish weren't there. Just got a 9 and am taking it out tomorrow for some dirt time.
