Is it appealing to whom? To me? No, not really. To some people? Probably.

if you are going to use the knife probably not, if you are keeping it to trade as a limited edition, it might increase the value to an interested collector.

There's allways first a pro production run. and later a first production run.
Which brand and type does it concerns?

Maybe if the first production run is being introduced with different marking, materials, serial numbers, etc. that increases the desiribility for certain collectors ?? Not really a draw for me though.

I'm no expert, but I'd imagine that if a certain knife is already collectable in and of itself, if it is also marked "first production run" this would very likely increase it's collectability.
