Well hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself, and try to calm my senses! After doing tons of research, I decided to make my first knife purchase (of course I have had knives before, nothing worthy though). I ordered a Benchmade 710HSSR (serrated blade and m2 steel), a pity it is, I still dont know if it has even been shipped yet... still says "ready" under the status bar for my order. Anyway! I have ants in my pants, and I cannot wait until it arrives.

Well, wish me luck!

Thanks-

Welcome to BladeForums! Your 1st knife purchase was an excellent one that you will be very pleased with, and is one that will serve you well for many years. I have a pair of 710 (both plain-edge, satin finish, 154CM steel) that I am very happy with.

Next you will HAVE TO get the 710's "little brother", the BM 705.:).

Wow! That's one heck of a first purchase! One of the best knives out there. Welcome to BF.com - let us know how the knife works out for you.

Welcome to BladeForums dude! Great choice!!!! The 710 is the standard by which I judge any knife purchase. No matter what, it never gets left behind. :)

You did well to take the time to research your purchase. I think you'll be pleased with the 710.

Welcome to BF.

Welcome to BladeForums there Bubba,

Good call on the BM 710, I have one and I love it. It sees a lot of daily use both at home and at work.

Well, I am a bit erked right now. I ordered the knife on the 13th, and yet the status of "ready" on my order hasnt changed since then, and multiple emails and calls to their office have no explanation for what "ready" means. After to days, I would at least expect a reply after sending email to their customer service address.
Anyway, I will wait, and hopefully everything will turn out okay. BTW, the site I ordered from was knifepro.com; any bad luck with these guys in the past?

Thanks for the great welcome!

I haven't dealt with Knife Professional before. I did a search on GB&U and found some good reviews on them, though they were from a long time ago. I don't mean it to sound like there were more recent bad reviews, just that nobody seems to have mentioned them in awhile. You might want to pop a thread in over at GB&U when all is said and done, to provide a more up-to-date review. I wouldn't be too worried though--they've been in business a long time, and nobody seems to be complaining about them, so they probably do a reasonably good job. Be sure and tell us how it goes.
