I'm the proud new owner of my first quality knife. I had a gift certificate and purchased a brand new Esee 4. I received it today and it is a beautiful knife. Gorgeous. Only thing is I didn't know I purchased the Clip Point version. I'm new to the forum and was wondering if there is a spot to sell. I really would like to sell it and get the none clip point version. It's the Esee 4 Plain Blade Clip Point with molle back and black Kydex sheathing. Anyone know how much i can sell this for? Just got it today and never been used.

You have to upgrade your membership (25.00 per year) if you wish to sell it. You can list your Esee 4 CP on the trading forum for free.

You have to have a gold membership to sell, but there is an exchange forum that you can trade it on. You might be able to trade it one for one pretty easily over there.

The upgrade to gold is well worth the cash. Not only do you get selling and many other privaleges but you support this great site.

Edit: Sorry if this sounds like propaganda but it is true.

Perhaps I will upgrade to gold to support this great site. Stumbled upon this site not too long ago. Maybe I should have done a little more research on the Esee 4, didn't even know they made the clip point. Maybe I can get a trade too!

I'm not a huge fan of the extra knife edge on the top of the knife. I don't think the clip point is useful for batoning. Can you still baton with the clip point?

Yeh batoning on a swedge ain't gonna do anything but be tougher on the baton. The swedge reduces weight and width of the tip making it a bit more workable. If your just worrying about batoning, id say keep it. Screw the baton

It always kinda surprises me how many people use batonability as a criteria, and yet most of the experienced outdoorsmen on here seem to think that you can get by just fine without batoning. I'm a big fan of the clip point, myself. I may pick up one of those at some point.

While it's not the main reason I wanted the ease 4 but having the ability is nice. I guess its like getting a hardtop corvette when what you wanted was a convertable. I definitely impressed by the knife and have no remorse keeping it if icant resell or trade. My next purchase will be the izula

Man, you're not going to be able to stop at just one ESEE...just won't happen. I am impressed that your choice of first ESEE is the 4. But now you'r gonna want an Izula, a 3, a 5 or a 6...

My point? Keep it cause you be buying another soon. I have two Izulas, two 3s, two 4s, and a 5. Probably won't be able to resist getting a 6. I had a Junglas but, for me, that was neither fish nor fowl...not a knife but not big enough to be a machete or short sword kind of thing...and I have two excellent machetes and too many axes to count so a dedicated baton machine was of little interest to me...so I sold it.

Great knife you got there.

I got my first Izula in the mail last night and I fell instantly in love with it. When you get one I'm sure you'll be happy with it. :)

Thats awesome! The Izula seems to be right there in perfection with the 4. Perfect dimensions and cool things you can do with it. While i only have the 4 i'm definitely getting the "Knife Bug". Will go Izula next as i mentioned then maybe a nice folder, i've been looking at the benchmade knives and they look to be some great looking, quality knives for the price.

Thanks Hoosier. I'm thrilled I got the Esee line of knife. Being a novice I almost went for a Gerber. Not that they are bad, but as a novice this brand of knife sticks out as top quality. While they may be decent quality i think they are subject to "Very Good" marketing. I'll take the U.S.A. made Esee any day... Now there's a slogan for Esee!

Congrats on your purchase! You'll love the Izula as well. I have several and love them all.
