Hi All,
I just received my first Rat and am super impressed! The grinds are even, the edge hair popping sharp and the knife built like a tank.

At first I wasn't sure about the short handle and choil, but I'm getting used to them. I've used it to carve hardwood for about half an hour and the thing still shaves hair. The edge holding is much better than I was expecting!

Overall, a great knife, very very impressed. Can't wait for it to get scratched up a bit. What is a knife without character?

RC-4 was my frist RAT and it was all up hill from there!
Izula should be next.

welcome aboard!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm hoping that it IS the last RAT I get however. I want to wear this thing out through overuse!

Will probably pick up a pink izula for my girlfriend however.

Welcome aboard! The RC-4 is a great first choice, I went that route with the green blade and orange G10 scales. It hasn't let me down yet.

I'm thinking the exact same thing...

Great choice! I have owned a few RC's and settled on the RC4 and Izula.
My RC4 just has the "feel right" thing going and is my overall favorite RC knife.

Got mine in yesterday - serious piece of steel. Will post pics later, when and if the sun (haven't seen that thing in weeks here) allows non-flash pics. You're right about that handle - it is shortish, but it does make the knife more agile to work with. Congrats, and
enjoy!

When I got my rc6, I told my brother " This is the last knife I'll ever need to buy. And it was. However, I have purchased significantly more since then.

The "Goldilocks" of knives in my opinion-just right! :) I have subsequently purchased the Izula after skinning a bear with my Benchmade Mini-Barrage and butchering with the RC-4. I think the Izula will be a nice fixed blade version to compliment my 4 in the same way!

well, the rc5 handle looks good to me now, just not the 1"4 stock.
And the blade length of the rc-3 looks nice too. hmmm
