I got my first RAT, an RC-3, two days ago, and I've been thinking about what my first post should be to the forum. Of course I'm thrilled with my new knife, of course I immediately thought of what RAT I was going to order next, of course I was giddy. You all know the feeling. Then I thought, why not ask the pack what I should "break in" my knife on? How to best celebrate this marvelous creation? Then, this morning I was rubbing some mineral oil on the blade and settled the matter. My index finger now has a small rat bite. Oh the ignominy.

I know the feeling. I got a Kershaw Tanto Blur a year ago and was messing around with it. Well to make a long story short, I dropped it on my foot, looked down and saw no blood (on the sock or the knife). Twenty minutes later, my sock was wet with blood as the knife had punched a small, yet deep, notch in my toe. Knives bite their owners. :p

Congratulations on your new RAT!

Yes... RAT knives are made to bite!:)

Haha, this is actually pretty much what happened to me just a few days ago. Received an Izula and RC-6 (awesome stuff:thumbup:), began wrapping the Izula with Paracord while the sheath was on, but the damn thing just jumped out and took a slice out of my index finger, didn't even notice it cut me until I saw the blood.

Cheers,

Another RAT Packer-in-training

Yep, these things are addictive anyway. But once they taste your blood you'll want to own all of them and after that you start thinking that maybe another Izula would be useful, then you'll realize that you can't live without the RC3 MIL.....
Welcome to the forum! :D

Just got my first Izula, a pinky one a few days ago. Already tried it on my hairy arm  shaved. It sliced through 550 paracord effortlessly. Also tried it on a wooden fence to see how hard I can get this knife to carve a chunck of wood. Much easier than I expected. Totally love it.

When I got my Izula I was trying to take it out of the sheath. The Izula did not want to come out and play so I pulled really hard........ It finally came loose so I tried to stop the pulling motion and instead put the knife right into my index finger that was holding onto the sheath! Thing just kept on bleeding, and bleeding......... That was about 4 months ago and I still can see the mark on the side of my knuckle!

They are treated with a special coating that keeps the blood from coagulating, like those russian made bayonets. :D

I haven't received my RAT yet and hope I do not get bit by it. A few weeks ago my wife bought me a Cold Steel Ti-lite and the first day is sliced me pretty good.
