OK, my Slim Outdoorsman is my EDC knife (OK, one of 4 EDC's
). I have used it a ton for little stuff, opening boxes, cutting bandages, easy stuff. Well, had a call today about a bull that had died (large animal vet). Last call I had and wanted to try a knife, I did this;
Had to baton through ribs with a Cold Steel. Learned a lesson and was well taken care of by CS...anyhow, back on topic.
I spent about an hour on a necropsy of this animal (autopsy on an animal) and used the Dozier for all the cutting tasks EXCEPT the ribs. The little knife did wonderfully well. There were a few times that a larger knife would have been advantageous, but I was easily able to achieve what I needed to.
The knife maintained its edge well, and was still extremely sharp upon completion of the process. I wish I could tell you it still shaved, but alas, no. However, it took a whole 12-15 light swipes on a ceramic stick to make the hair roll off the arm effortlessly.
VERY pleased with the performance and ease of resharpening. REALLY a big fan of Dozier knives.
