I'm new to knife collecting. So far, I've accumulated a Kershaw Leek, a Kershaw blackwash, a Gerber Freeman, and a couple of cheapo Tac Force knives.
Today, I had to assemble a chair we bought on Amazon. Of course, it was shipped in a huge box made of heavy cardboard. Before placing the empty box into recycling, I thought I'd try an unscientific test to see which blade performed the best.
I took turns cutting the flaps off using each knife. Then I cut down the edges to break down the box to make it fit easily into the bin.
The Leek won hands down. The Tac Force knives were dulled after only one pass. The Gerber lasted three passes before I noticed any dulling. The Kershaw blackwash did a little better, but the Leek was still sharp after about five passes through heavy cardboard.
Any similar experiences?
